Goa '25

Very very impromptu plan. But I had a TON of fun.
This was a less emotional trip for me. The last time in Goa got intense. But this time, I was way more relaxed.

So backstory,

We got this villa through Ankita. She had earlier booked this villa to spend time with her boyfriend (who is a mystery) and their best friend. Now mystery boyfriend got some work and couldn't make it. And best friend also ditched. So Ankita was in a bind, and she put up the villa on Instagram if someone wants to take it off her hands for the dates.

Kackar, being kackar, mobilized NPG India group. Most of us couldn't make it understandably. Half the trip was over weekdays, and it was a very short notice. Barely 3-4 days before we got to know of this scheme. Though once we got 3-4 folks, we booked tickets and were on our way!

Day 1

We were kinda on a short trip, due to our work schedules being hectic. So we were hitting places whenever we got the opportunity. First place we went, the same morning post landing, we went to this restaurant for breakfast called Baba Au Rahm. Okay place, nothing too fancy tbh. They had good items on the menu, but I was too tired to enjoy. Was really looking forward to relaxing alone for a bit after the early morning flight.

First 2 days I stayed just in the villa and didn't go anywhere outside[1]. It was damn beautiful. And super cozy. I think for the first time I had my own room :D. No one had eyes on that room, it had no Study Table (So Krishna didn't look for it) and it also didn't have an amazing view. What it DID have was peace. When I wanted a sexy view, I'd go to Abhijit's room, which had a MARVELOUS view.

Day 2

The next day, i.e. 4th, was a more chill day. I thought I'd work, but fuck iiittt. Spent half the day in the pool with the folks, while they spoke finances and shiz. I just acted like a chill cat and played in the pool and just heard stuff. Even that makes me happy tbh. I don't get much time with Kackar anyway.

The same night we tried to go to a shack to get the Goa vibes. But alas, all the shacks were pretty shit. Okay so we went to just two, at a beach I forgot. But both of them had below average vibes. The 2nd one, Elrow, still seemed okay. Except it had too loud music playing behind us. Still, the drive was fun. Popat drove us everywhere, so that Kackar could drink. But the shacks did disappoint us a bit so there was no chance of drinking. Later went to this Gelato outlet that Neeti REALLY wanted to go which was "5 mins away". It was 45 mins away, out of the way of the villa, and also took 30 mins to get back to the villa. I was too exhausted by then, so quietly went to my room to unwind.

If I knew Krishna was gonna leave the very next morning, I'd have instead stayed up a bit with everyone. She really has a very very hectic life. Very hardworking woman.

Day 3

I think the next time I properly stepped out of the villa (minus the grumpiness) was when we went to this nice restaurant by the river called The Lazy Goose. By this time I was fully rested and hungry for meat. Had good food and even better chill talks with a nice river on the side. Kackar sadly had to leave after that for his flight back to Mumbai.

Later that night, Neeti was gonna leave coz her dad ka birthday was there the next day. So Abhijit, Ankita, and I chilled in the pool till the Neeti got her affairs in order before her flight. We opted to go to this cool spot, The Second House, for dinner and drinks. Neeti left from there in time for her boarding. The rest of us (just 3 remaining) took a tour of the pub, which was quite neat. They overdid a bit on the "Generative AI" stuff, but their intentions were pure it seems. To be cool. And they did succeed in that.

I opted to leave the next night coz I wanted to avoid the hassle of a morning flight + leaving the villa. Abhijit and Ankita also agreed and all 3 of us left at the same time, but in different flights. Abhijit in Indigo, Ankita and I in Air India. Both flights departed at nearly the same time though. Cool.

Day 4

The day however, was a brilliant end to the trip. We first again chilled in the pool, and then got ready to hit our first spot. Abhijit did a smart thing and booked a cab for the entire day. That saved us a ton of money and avoided too many goa miles bookings. We first went to Burger Factory in Anjuna. Have wanted to go there since YEARS. And they had such an amazing beef burger omg. Just as per my expectations.

ANOTHER ONE

Afterwards, we went to another bar, Slow Tide, which had a really nice sea-facing view. Fuck sea-facing, the bar was at the beach only. Okay-ish food, but the others said the drinks were great. I just really enjoyed standing at the pier and looking out at the sea from there.

Happy Day 😁

Before we left, we hit another place called Vaz Enterprises. Coz Abhijit wanted to buy some premium alcohol for himself and "maybe" friends. That's a big maybe. Got 2 bottles of Cherapunji Gin and a bottle of Tintos Feni. Couple that with the bottles of Indri that we were carrying back for Arnav ka shaadi, I wouldn't be surprised if we all seemed like alcohol smugglers.

All in all, 8/9 trip. Would do it again along with the NPG International folks. Won't fuck up like last time 😅.

This trip was the first time in years I think where I was the last one to leave the location. Usually I come late, and leave early. This time around, I came with everyone and left with most people.

  1. No surprises there.↊ī¸Ž
